The Ministry of Water of Resources, Electricity and Irrigation has inaugurated the first station in Sudan to automatically measuring underground and surface water.
The Ministry of Water Resources, Electricity and Irrigation Undersecretary Eng. Musa Omar said this station is part of the agreement with IGAD to create a database for underground and surface water and measure stock.
On his part, the Director of Underground Water and Valleys, Eng. Salah Mahgoub said Sudan is very rich in underground water and there is a huge surface water movement during the rainy season. “This station is good for managing underground water for agriculture, mining and human use,” he said.
