The Prime Minister / Finance Minister, H.E Mutaz Musa, inaugurated the payment of electricity bill via the Automated Machine Teller (ATM) in the office of Nile City in Omdurman. The electronic payment coincides with government trend that aims automating financial transaction, says Khider Mohammed Gasim Minister of Water Sources and Electricity to facilitate service delivery to public. The Minister further confirmed that the automation would cover different regions of Sudan by the end of current December.
On his part, Eng. Abdulrazig Ahmed Yousif, Deputy General Manager of Sudanese Company for Electricity Distribution pointed out that electronic payment for electricity service was applied experimentally in Port Sudan in the Red Sea State earlier this month, adding that the automation has just covered electricity distribution offices throughout Khartoum in preparation for extending the experience to cover all regions in the country. He further lauded the efforts carried out by partners in cooperation with engineers and technicians.
